The AC 2XL+ has a 127 mm neck opening and carries ten canisters instead of six. More positions keep samples sorted, for example by project or customer: up to 17,640 straws of 0.25 ml or 1,140 cryovials, with a holding time of up to 97 days.

What sets the series apart
The neck opening decides.
The neck opening is the largest heat bridge of every vessel. A narrow neck opening keeps nitrogen longest. A wide neck opening takes more canisters or racks, but needs refilling more often. The 5 vessel series of the family, neck openings drawn to scale:

Good to know before you choose
What the numbers mean in daily use.
Holding time is a lab value
Every opening shortens the holding time. Plan your refill interval with a buffer, especially if you access samples often.
Liquid or vapour phase
Samples are stored submerged in liquid nitrogen. With long canisters, storage in the vapour phase above the liquid may also be possible. Ask us before you plan it.
Weight and transport
Aluminium body, 14.6 kg empty. For transport, see the T models of AC L, XL+ and 2XL. The AC 2XL+ is not approved for road transport under ADR.
When to choose another series
For more straws per vessel, the AC 2XL47. For longer holding time, the AC L or AC XL+. For boxes, the AC 2XL-B or AC 3XL.
