The stainless-steel High-Capacity Freezers store 430 to 860 litres of liquid nitrogen and up to 186,000 straws or 37,700 cryovials. The wide lid opens easily and a lid switch reports “open”. With automatic filling and monitoring, the level stays stable even with daily access. Available with racks (BIO), canisters on two levels (IVF) or the wide-neck SYS frame for liquid or vapour phase.

What sets the series apart

Tight neck opening or wide neck opening.

A tight neck opening keeps the nitrogen consumption low. The wide neck opening of the Freezer 480 opens the whole cross-section, so you can reach every rack directly. All 3 sizes, neck openings drawn to scale:

What the numbers mean in daily use.

Consumption instead of holding time

Freezers are refilled continuously, so they are rated by nitrogen consumption: about 9 litres per day. Automatic filling keeps the level constant.

Liquid or vapour phase

The Freezer 480 with SYS frame stores in the liquid or the vapour phase. In the vapour phase, samples stay close to the temperature of liquid nitrogen without being submerged.

Installation and service

227 to 420 kg empty, on castors. We deliver, install and commission the freezer, and service it on site. Automatic filling needs a supply vessel, for example an AC 240 PB.
