The vacuum-insulated aluminum containers of the L, XL+, 2XL, 2XL+, and 3XL series of the Auguste Cryogenics Medical Family are cryogenic storage vessels for the long-term storage of biological material in liquid nitrogen – with numerous application possibilities in laboratories as well as in medical, pharmaceutical, and industrial facilities.
Key Features:
The individual vessel series mainly differ in their neck diameters (50, 90, 125, 127, and 216 mm) and are supplied as standard with short (-S, 120 mm) or long (-L, 276 mm) canisters, or racks with cryoboxes (-B). The short canisters are primarily used for the storage of cryogenic straws, while the long canisters each contain two goblets and are suitable for both straws and cryovials in holders. The racks are designed for the systematic storage of cryovials and are only used in the 2XL and 3XL series. These vessels are ideally suited for the structured storage of medium to large sample volumes in the liquid nitrogen phase; with long canisters and racks, storage in the gas phase may also be possible. Depending on the model and configuration, static holding times of three weeks to over half a year are possible.

Overview of further models for CELL STORAGE:
T-Models
T-models are reinforced cryogenic storage and transport vessels. They are based on the L, XL+, 2XL, and 2XL+ series, but differ in their reinforced construction and are therefore designed for the safe transport of biological samples in liquid nitrogen. The “T” stands for transport: the vessels comply with ADR regulations for transport on public road and rail networks. These vessels combine storage and mobility, but are usually a compromise with regard to evaporation rate and holding time.
Example: AC L20-S (standard) and AC L20T-S (T-version).
AC FREEZER
Freezers are high-capacity stainless-steel cryogenic storage vessels specifically developed for the safe and economical long-term storage of larger sample quantities. They are used in medicine, pharmaceuticals, and research and are available with a capacity of 430 L, 480 L, or 860 L. The vessels are suitable for both gas-phase and liquid-phase storage. They can also be equipped with canisters, rack systems, and automatic filling and monitoring systems, and are ideal for research institutions, biobanks, and universities with high capacity requirements.

MDR – Medical Device Regulation (EU)
The Medical Device Regulation (MDR) defines binding requirements across Europe for products intended for medical applications. MDR-compliant liquid nitrogen vessels are required for medical and regulated applications where safety, documentation, and traceability are required – for example in hospitals, IVF centers, or biobanks.
