AC T models · Transport versions of AC L, XL+ and 2XL

Liquid nitrogen,
by road.

T models are the reinforced versions of the AC L, AC XL+ and AC 2XL vessels. They carry samples in liquid nitrogen in your own vehicle and stay as storage on arrival, with a holding time of up to 209 days. “They comply with ADR regulations for hazardous goods transport by road and rail.”

What sets the series apart

Reinforced for the road.

A T model is the same vessel as its storage twin, built for the trip: reinforced body, the same neck opening, the same canisters. It carries liquid nitrogen, so it holds the cold for months and keeps storing the samples where they arrive. The 2 transport series of the range, drawn to scale:

L, XL+ or 2XL, as a T model

The T model keeps the neck opening and the storage system of its series. Choose the series as you would for storage: narrow neck opening for the longest holding time, wider neck opening for more straws or for racks.

  • AC L T · neck opening 50 mm20 to 50 litres, 6 short or long canisters. Longest holding time, up to 209 days.
  • AC XL+ T · neck opening 91 mm10 to 35 litres, 6 canisters with more straws each.
  • AC 2XL T · neck opening 125 mm15 to 50 litres: 10 short canisters, 6 long canisters or racks for cryoboxes.

Good to know before you choose

What the numbers mean in daily use.

They comply with ADR regulations for hazardous goods transport by road and rail.

Holding time on the road

On the road the vessel is opened and moved, so plan a buffer. Even so, a T model holds for weeks, a dry shipper for days.

Heavier than its twin

The reinforced body adds weight. Where the shop data has both, the T model weighs more than the standard vessel of the same size and its holding time is a little shorter.

Small vessels are road-ready too

Storage models up to 10 litres (AC L2 to L10, AC XL+10, AC 2XL10-B) carry the ADR marking in the shop data without a T. For larger sizes, the T model is the road version. In our range, all vessels up to 10 litres and the T models are approved under ADR.
