Overview

The dry shipping containers of the AC DS series from the Auguste Cryogenics Medical Family are cryogenic freezing containers specifically designed for the transport of biological material. The special material inside the container absorbs the liquid nitrogen and enables safe transport without any risk of spillage, while ensuring that valuable samples remain securely cooled. The DS series containers can be transported without any issues on all routes, including air transport, as they are ADR and IATA approved.

These containers are available with short (-S, 120 mm) or long (-L, 276 mm) canisters, as well as with racks for cryoboxes (-B). The short canisters are primarily used for the storage of straws, while the long canisters each contain two goblets and are suitable for both straws and cryotubes in holders. The racks are designed for the systematic storage of cryotubes.

  • High mobility due to low weight and compact dimensions
  • Long holding times with low nitrogen consumption
  • Large storage capacity
  • ADR and IATA approval
MDR

MDR – Medical Device Regulation (EU)

The Medical Device Regulation (MDR) defines binding requirements across Europe for products intended for medical applications. MDR-compliant liquid nitrogen vessels are required for medical and regulated applications where safety, documentation, and traceability are required – for example in hospitals, IVF centers, or biobanks.

Full description

The dry shipping containers of the AC DS series from the Auguste Cryogenics Medical Family are cryogenic freezing containers specifically designed for the transport of biological material. The special material inside the container absorbs the liquid nitrogen and enables safe transport without any risk of spillage, while ensuring that valuable samples remain securely cooled. Key Features:

  • High mobility due to low weight and compact dimensions
  • Long holding times with low nitrogen consumption
  • Large storage capacity
  • ADR and IATA approval

These containers are available with short (-S, 120 mm) or long (-L, 276 mm) canisters, as well as with racks for cryoboxes (-B). The short canisters are primarily used for the storage of straws, while the long canisters each contain two goblets and are suitable for both straws and cryotubes in holders. The racks are designed for the systematic storage of cryotubes.

A complete overview of all technical parameters for this container is provided in the “Technical Data” table below.

Overview of further models for CELL TRANSPORT:

T-Models
T-models are reinforced cryogenic storage and transport vessels. They are based on the L, XL+, 2XL, and 2XL+ series, but differ in their reinforced construction and are therefore designed for the safe transport of biological samples in liquid nitrogen. The “T” stands for transport: the vessels comply with ADR regulations for transport on public road and rail networks. These vessels combine storage and mobility, but are usually a compromise with regard to evaporation rate and holding time.

Example: AC L20-S (standard) and AC L20T-S (T-version).
